| After the dropping in Normandy, Daniel was part of the group that moved toward Ravenoville. At the southern edge of the village was the Marmion Farm situated. A German headquarter and supply depot. (right) There were 3 different US groups that attacked the farm. The attack only took about 5 or 10 minutes and they took the buildings. After a while the Germans started to attack again.Though the Americans did not have any automatic weapons with them they held the place all day and the morning of the next. Than, around noon, about 150 men, sea borne infantry who had landed on Utah Beach, arrived at the farm, which was good because their ammunition was dangerously low. |
